Handsome Willy's
218
S Robertson St. , New Orleans, LA
(504) 525-0377
This
CBD bar is an anomoly in NOLA. This bar is situated next to the downtown
medical schools in a building which functioned as a brothel as recently
as 2005. Now it's the best and one of the only places in the city to
hear djs spin great music on a nightly basis. Stiff drinks, good snacks,
a beautiful courtyard, and...yes...they even have a ping pong table
make this one serious diamond in the rough.

Lucy's
Retired Surfer's Bar & Restaurant
701 Tchoupitoulas St. , New Orleans, LA
(504) 523-8995
Super fun drink selection. Think trinkets, like plastic sharks that
spew “blood” into some type of sweet blue, very alcoholic, concoction.
Think pineapple glasses. But be careful, Lucy’s morphs into a singles
meat market during crowded after-work happy hours.
Mermaid Lounge - NO LONGER IN BUSINESS
1100 Constance Street, New Orleans, LA
(504) 524-4747
Almost exclusively a live music venue, the Mermaid caters to offbeat
bands and a few local faves. The crowd is mostly made up of the friends
and family members of the bands performing.

Kangaroo Cafe
636 Tchoupitoulas St. , New Orleans, LA
(504) 524-4329
A happy hour fave among the downtown work set. Mostly twenty-something
nine to fivers and neighborhood regulars. Very chill later night CBD
hangout.
Whiskey Blue at the W Hotel

Swanky and dark. Dress nicely and mingle with businessmen and upscale
